Featured Artists Exhibit September-November 2026

The gallery is featuring the work of member artists Shelly Hehenberger, Mary Lee Kerr, and Donna Stubbs, as well as guest artist Polina Varlamova.
This exhibit will be on view alongside FRANK:inFocus from September 29 through November 14. Opening reception on October 9, 2026 from 6 to 9 PM.
Shelly Hehenberger
Shelly’s new series, The Scenic Route, has grown from a decade of daily mixed-media sketchbook practice. In this body of work, she translates her recurring sketchbook themes and motifs into large-scale paintings using cold wax, oil, paper, and collage. By cutting, reconstructing, and painting over completed collages, Shelly unveils mysterious hybrids and anomalies, producing art that explores the wild and the contained.
Mary Lee Kerr
For Mary Lee, sculpture is a way to express something about her place in the world and her connection to others. Her current work focuses on overcoming obstacles and seeking protection and peace amid chaos. Working primarily with mid-fire clays, Mary Lee emphasizes movement, curves, and negative space rather than color so viewers can focus on form.
Donna Stubbs
Donna’s art explores the way fragments of experience accumulate and shift over time. Through layering, painting, drawing, and collage, she manipulates and brings these fragments together intuitively. Donna is interested in the space between recognition and uncertainty, and the unexpected connections that emerge through memory and observation. 
Polina Varlamova
Polina’s interdisciplinary art practice reflects her experience of immigration and the transformation of her inner and outer worlds. Through a unique visual language of textile, embroidery, sculpture, and installation, Polina draws on personal archives to trace her evolution. She explores how memory, displacement, and belonging intertwine, and how the body carries the memory of change and life’s finite nature.
