The performance will be among the wonderful works of art in the gallery’s Contemporary Native American Artist Invitational exhibit. \nRyan Dial-Stanley\, a Medical Lab Scientist at the UNC Medical Center\, is a member of the Lumbee tribe. He graduated last year from UNC with a Bachelors of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science and a minor in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. \nDial-Stanley served as the co-chair of the Powwow committee of the Carolina Indian Circle. The annual Powwows he led were close to his heart\, and he has attended them with his family since he was five years old. \nThe January 29 performance at The FRANK Gallery will be limited to 40 attendees. Vaccination cards and masks will be required.

When the drawing starts\, the names of art ticket holders will be drawn at random (this is the fun part!) and read out loud by our emcee\, local radio personality\, Aaron Keck. Once your name is called\, you’ll have one minute to choose your favorite piece of art “off the wall” to take home. It gets exciting as you never know what the next piece to go will be! \nYou are also invited to visit the gallery the week before the event to see all the donated art in person and we will be sending out an artwork list prior to the event so everyone can make a list of your favorite art\, in order of preference.  \nThere will be over 70 pieces of donated art (from our generous artists!) all valued at more than the price of a ticket and will be posted on our website prior to the event\, so stay tuned and check back often to get an early look. \nWhere? Mirinda took one flight in her father’s Cessna Skyhawk as he piloted and navigated by landmarks that revealed themselves through openings in the trees below. It gets exciting as you never know what the next piece to go will be! \nThere will be over 60 pieces of donated art all valued at more than the price of a ticket and will be posted on our website prior to the event\, so stay tuned and check back often to get an early look. The format of this year’s event will be a little different since it will be done virtually however we can assure you the same exciting event with the same quality and value of beautiful art choices. We will be sending out a form for your preference of food and drink and will be making non-contact deliveries prior to the event for each ticket holder with a charcuterie box from Femme Fromage\, bottle of your choice of wine from Gioiawines\, or non-alcoholic beverage\, and sweet treat from SmallCakes. \nWhere? FRANK artists and other well-known area artists have donated works of art to our 7th Annual Gala Celebration\, each valued between $350 to $3\,000 (or more)! During the event\, excitement builds as the evening’s MC randomly draws names\, allowing each Art Ticket holder to take a turn to select a piece of his or her choosing. All tickets include free signature and traditional drinks\, and plenty of delicious food prepared by talented local chefs. Dress for the evening is artfully festive\, but not black-tie formal.  Tickets can be purchased in person or online up to the day of the Gala (or until we sell out). We look forward to celebrating this wonderful event with you!

Tell your mailman\, your grocer\, and your professor. Come ready to traverse the downtown\, track down clues\, and snap photos based on a series of clues from FRANK gallery. \nThis photo scavenger hunt will highlight the triangle\, a shape that carries many meanings. It symbolizes strength\, harmony\, unity\, and balance. It appears in the world everywhere\, both in nature and by design. Inspired by the annual Click! Triangle Photography Festival\, this hunt is about finding triangles or using creative methods to make your own. \nThe best thing about this scavenger hunt is you don’t need a fancy camera or a trained photographer’s eye. All you need is a phone and an Instagram\, Twitter\, or Facebook account. It’s all about experimenting with photography and exploring the way it can bring us together. In the end\, all the photos from the day will be virtually collected and displayed online. \nBring your friends\, family\, and a camera\, be open to new ways of seeing\, and leave the rest to the hunt. This program is free and open to all.

SUMMARY:2015 Off the Wall Gala Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Our 5th Annual Gala Celebration has of three exciting partsThe OFF THE WALL drawing\, a live art auction\, and an end-of-evening special prize drawing.  Only Art Ticket holders participate in the OFF THE WALL drawing.\nFRANK artists and many other well-known area artists have donated works of art for the OFF THE WALL drawing\, each valued at more than $350 to $3\,000.   During this lively drawing our host will randomly draw names from the Art Ticket holders list. As each name is called the lucky individual selects a piece of his or her choosing to take home.\nThe live art auction features five exceptional pieces and everyone can participate in the bidding. In addition\, everyone is entered into our end-of-the-evening drawing for a special prize.\nAll attendees enjoy free signature and traditional drinks and plenty of delicious food prepared by talented local chefs.  Dress for the evening is artfully festive\, but not black-tie formal.

An evening of film and discussionwith one of the Triangle’s most celebrated sculptors:Patrick Dougherty \nFriday July 18\, 7pm:\n “Bending Sticks: Sculptures of Patrick Dougherty”\nat\nTHE VARSITY THEATER\n(doors will open at 6:30)\nfollowed by a  reception at FRANK Gallery until 10pm\nTickets are $30 and can be purchased at FRANK until 6:00PM or at the Varsity beginning at 6:30PM.\n “Bending Sticks; an evening with Patrich Dougherty” on Friday July 18th . This event will include the screening of the film “Bending Sticks” which  highlights the work of environmental artist Patrick Dougherty’s extraordinary and monumental scale works built with live saplings.The film will be shown at the Varsity Theater at 7:00pm followed by a reception at FRANK Gallery at which the artist will be present.
