Meet your Teachers:

Nerys Levy and Barbara Tyroler are two acclaimed local artists as well as FRANK Gallery members. Nerys is a skilled plein air and local landscape painter and Barbara is an innovative photographer who specializes in many techniques from portraits to layered multimedia collaborations and collages. They will teach a variety of methods of capturing the landscape in their own artistic mediums. All experience levels are encouraged to attend, no prior knowledge required. Techniques will be reviewed as needed in each session, and will be expanded upon for repeat participants.

What's in a name?

Travel encouraged but not required. We hope our Travel Journal Workshops will inspire you to draw everywhere you go! The idea began as a way to explore and "travel" around the Triangle to find the beauty in the world around us, and encourage our participants to make drawing a part of their travels. We hope you will continue to work on your sketchbooks even after your session ends and bring it along with you wherever you go.

All funds raised from these workshops support this program, and FRANK Gallery, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.

Special thanks to the generosity of the Triangle Land Conservancy our partners, and ours hosts for many of the sessions

*All participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult to all sessions. Adult participation is not required but must remain present for child to participate in session.

**One set of supplies (journal, pencils, erasers, etc.) will be provided for new registrants on your first workshop day. If you have signed up for our Travel Journals in the past, please continue bring your supplies to all upcoming sessions. Directions, alternate weather sites, and any other necessary information will be sent via email to the participants for that class.
