Beyond the Five Senses: The Sixth Sense, or the Aesthetic Sense
Aida’s images articulate a language of emotions: from the sense of freshness and naturalness that food conveys to its warmth, from the conviviality of the tradition to the sophistication of new recipes. She captures several foods common in Italy and unveils their aesthetic facet. Drawing on the fine arts’ sensibility, she defines the ‘aesthetic sense’ in food as the search for its equilibrium and rhythm. Her presentation explores four themes: a symphony of colors, smells, shapes; raw and cooked food; intense emotions; and staging art.
