Peg Gignoux

Marguerite Jay Gignoux is a textile artist based in Carrboro, NC.  Gignoux creates vibrant mixed media works, textile collages, art quilts and hand made books. An active teaching artist, Gignoux facilitates innovative fiber projects with diverse communities throughout North Carolina making public art with and for a variety schools, museums and health care centers and libraries. She enjoys working with all ages and has led projects with Duke Hospital, Green Hill Center for NC Art, Penland School, North Carolina Museum of Art, and is adjunct professor of art at Elon University. Gignoux leads a yearly art retreat to Chateau du Pin, Anjou, France.  She received a BA in English from Kenyon College and a Masters of Industrial Design in Fibers from NCSU, College of Design.
